The aim of the sensory integration room is to enhance the effectiveness of the brain’s neurological system in processing information through appropriate sensory stimulation (mainly tactile, vestibular balance and proprioceptive) and activities to effectively induce adaptive responses, including emotional control, body co-ordination, motor planning, postural control, organisational skills and concentration.
The main facilities in the room include a swing board, hanging cradle, gliding swing, lycra bed, slide, trampoline, climbing wall, rope net, ball pit, cylindrical tunnel, balance beam and bean bags.
