What is Occupational Therapy?
The aim of Occupational Therapy is to help student enhance their ability of independence by carrying out different types of training or prescribing adaptive tools.
Occupational therapist will regularly organise training and talk to staff members and carer, in order to enhance their knowledge and competence.
Therapist will provide individual and group training to students, the scope of service includes:
Basic skills training
- Fine motor training (hand function, hand-eye coordination training, etc.)
- Postural control
- Multisensory training
- Sensory integration training
Activity of daily living (ADL) training
- Self-care training (eating, drinking, dressing, toileting, etc.)
- Cognitive training
In class support and collaboration
- Practical skills training
- Conductive education and training
Multimedia training
Assistive aids production and modification
- Special chairs, wheelchairs and commode
- Specially-designed and adapted tableware
- Rehabilitation equipment: such as hand splint, gaiter and fist holder for grasping
Action plan training
Finding grip, hand-eye coordination training
Small hand muscles and hand-eye coordination training
Self-care ability training
Parent education and lectures
