Teaching strategies

The Music subject is mainly taught in small groups, where students will be given individual guidance on specific skills or appreciation according to their different abilities. Teachers will provide students with rich and comprehensive music learning experiences involving three aspects, namely listening, creation and performing, through a variety of comprehensive learning activities. The subject will be mainly student-orientated, with the application of information technology to teaching according to students' abilities and interests, to boost students' initiative and learning motivation as well as to improve their concentration ability in response to their individuality. Various music activities will be regularly organized, including festival co-curricular activities and concerts, to integrate music learning into daily living, so that students can come into contact with and learn about music in practical situations. Teachers will design suitable teaching aids according to students' abilities and interests, such as textured note cards, fruit note cards, flashing so-fa syllable cards and scale stairs. In addition, various electronic teaching aids are also developed, such as flashing desk bells, touch-control desk bells, rainbow creation box, rhythm creation light box and SKOOG, to arouse students' interest in and concentration on learning as well as enable the effective learning of music knowledge. The subject team has also developed a number of e-books about musical instruments, covering musical instrument introduction, performance skills and games. Learning with e-books can arouse students’ interest in learning and enhance student interaction.

Our school has specially designated certain classes as sound management classes. Students will use different musical instruments to express the weather of the day in class. At the same time, they will also use rainbow bells to perform roll calls to enhance students' awareness of the surrounding environment and strengthen students' understanding of music. Interest in science.
