To deepen students’ understanding of Chinese culture, ten school days of “subunit” teaching will be conducted before Mid-Autumn Festival, New Year’s Day and Dragon Boat Festival. It will start with environment decoration, with teachers and students decorating the classrooms together to create a festive atmosphere. Step by step, students at different learning stages can learn about distinctive traditional objects, customs and festival meanings through different activities. Celebration activity simulation and life experience integration are applied to enhance students' understanding of Chinese festivals. Mid-Autumn Festival subunit: "mooncake", a symbol of Mid-Autumn Festival, will appear during various learning stages. Common Mid-Autumn Festival customs, such as playing with lanterns as well as eating pomelo and other festive food, will be included in different learning stages. Festival activities, for example giving out mooncakes, sharing fruits and moon appreciation, will also be simulated so that students can experience the atmosphere of reunion and enjoy time with familiar ones.
