Originated from the Dutch concept of Snoezelen, multi-sensory therapy aims to create a relaxed and leisurely environment that can help students to improve concentration, increase responsiveness, control the environment, reduce tension, eliminate undesirable or self-harming behaviour and develop more adaptive community behaviour. Studies have also shown that the Snoezelen therapy has many benefits in terms of communication, improving relationships and reducing dependency on drugs.
